The Investigations Division is comprised of detectives, school resource officers, forensic specialists, evidence technicians, community police officers, crime prevention officer, community liaisons, neighborhood watch and volunteer coordinator, community service interns, and all of their respective supervisors. We work together in conjunction with our patrol officers and the community in order to achieve our mission. There were many notable accomplishments and highlights in 2010.
Successful, high-profile criminal investigations included the apprehension and prosecution of a suspect in May 2010 (Cornelius Hicks) for a series of armed robberies of gas stations and convenience stores dating back to November 2009, including Green Bay and Oconto County. Two notable homicide cases in June 2010 (Eric Vieau) and November 2010 (Gene Demerath) were quickly solved with suspects either identified or in custody within hours of the incidents, bringing relief to the community as well as to the families of the victims. We responded to a request from the Appleton Police Department to investigate a fatal officer-involved shooting in September 2010 and helped to provide answers to their officers and community within forty-eight hours.
The dedicated men and women of the Investigations Division are committed to achieve our mission and to meet the challenges that lie ahead of us in the upcoming year.
