National Police Week Commemoration - Tuesday May 20, 7pm
The Green Bay Police Department will again take part in a Ceremony to commemorate National Police Week in Northeast Wisconsin.  The ceremony will take place outside of the Green Bay Police Department, Tuesday May 20th at 7pm.  A reception will follow in the Brown County Courthouse.  Featured Speakers include Brown County Executive Tom Hinz, and "A Survivor's Message".  For more information, please call Lisa Sterr (920) 448-3186 or Randy Schultz (920) 448-4220.

This year we remember the loss of Frank Fabiano Jr, a Kenosha County Sheriff's Deputy.

In 2008, Wisconsin lost another officer.  Chippewa County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Zunker was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on January 5th.  His Officer Memorial is located here.

In 1989, the first annual Candlelight Vigil was held at the site of the soon-to-be constructed National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Judiciary Square in Washington, DC. In October, 1991, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial was dedicated by President George Bush. Today that Memorial Wall carries the names of over 14,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

During National Police Week, Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) encourages the display of blue ribbons on car antennas. COPS distributes over 1,000,000 blue ribbons prior to National Police Week to law enforcement agencies to display on cruiser antennas.  Citizens can also show their support by flying blue ribbons from their car antennas.


The Green Bay Police Benevolent and Protective Association Fundraiser is going on now. This May at Southwest High School, watch the Police Play the Packers in basketball!  To read more about the Benevolent Association, Click Here.


Kids - Enter the GBPD Animal Control Activity Book Contest

The Green Bay Police Department Animal Control Team is sponsoring a contest for pictures, logos, and activities to be included in an Activity Book for school children ages 6-14. Participants can submit designs including coloring book pages, crossword puzzles, word searches or other activities you design that are appropriate for those ages.
