Green Bay Police Department Investigative Division
Detectives
The Investigative Division is supervised by Commander Tom Molitor and five lieutenants, Colleen Belongea, Jody Buth, Mike Nick, Todd Thomas, and Keith Knoebel. The detectives are complimented by 10 School Resource Officers, and 1 School Canine Officer. 15 of the detectives work on the day shift. 6 work Monday through Friday and the rest work on a rotating schedule. 5 detectives work on the afternoon shift.
There are several areas of investigative expertise within the Investigative Division. Specialty Areas Include:
- White-collar crime continues to grow. We have two detectives who work these crimes exclusively, however many other detectives also work these types of cases.
- We have two detectives who work sensitive crimes. These are cases involving children and adults who have been sexually or physically abused. Again, other detectives as well as liaison officers also investigate these cases.
- One detective is trained in computer forensics. This is a very specialized field and involves extensive training. His expertise is used by our department as well as other departments throughout the area.
- One detective specializes in gang investigations. He not only investigates gang related crimes, but gathers and disseminates gang intelligence throughout the agency.
- Two detectives concentrate on robberies and two concentrate on burglaries
- Two are trained in arson investigations.
- The remaining detectives are generalists who may have expertise in a particular area but are assigned cases in all area. Any detective may need to investigate any type of crime.
