Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen of at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record
  • Associate Degree in Police Science or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • No Felony or Domestic Abuse Convictions
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Able to use all standard law enforcement equipment

Application Process
The Green Bay Police Department has open hiring periods every year.  Applications are only accepted during the open recruitment periods.

The hiring process includes:
  • a written test
  • interview with a police department panel
  • a physical agility test
  • an interview with the Police and Fire Commission.
Once applicants pass these preliminary steps, they are placed on an eligibility list for job openings that may occur.  Once placed on the eligibility list, a thorough background check, psychological assessment, physical examination, and polygraph test are required.  The recruitment process may take at least 6 months and is dependent upon the number of applicants and open positions.

Open recruitments and job openings are posted on the City of Green Bay Human Resources site www.green-bay.org.  Applications are available online during open recruitment periods.  They can be completed online and emailed in, mailed, or delivered to the below address.
