GARAGE STAFF

The garage is staffed by head mechanic Marty Lewis and mechanics Paul Baierl, Dean Simon, and Kurt Greiner. The garage staff is responsible for the maintenance of the department's fleet of 84 units. This includes oil and tire changes, car washing, equipment repairs and inspections, as well as major repairs such as rebuilding engines and automatic transmissions. They are also responsible for outfitting every vehicle in the fleet with items such as emergency warning lights, sirens, police radios, computers, transport cages, transport seats, stop sticks, and all other necessary police equipment.

Not only must the staff be proficient in repairs to automobiles, but they must also be proficient in repairs to motorcycles and heavy equipment, such as the mobile command center and paddy wagon.

Mechanics are on duty six days a week.
