Under the direction of Commander Kevin J. Warych, the Operations Division is the largest of the three divisions within the Green Bay Police Department.
Commander Warych was promoted from the rank of captain to the rank of commander on April 18th, 2018 . The Operations Division is responsible for all activities of uniformed patrol including the specialized units of K9, Traffic Enforcement, Crash Reconstruction, Dive Team, SWAT Team, Harbor Patrol, Community Policing, Mental Health Officers, and Animal Control. The Operations Division is also responsible for Special Events scheduling and scheduling officers for all home Green Bay Packers games.
Captain Gary J. Richgels currently oversees each of these shifts, while a total of 9 Lieutenants, and 11 Sergeants, assist with the daily operations of each shift. Totaling approximately 90 uniformed patrol officers on these shifts, their roles include providing service through a partnership with the community, responding to calls for service, crime prevention, and ensuring peace and order, among many other daily duties.
