Traffic Enforcement
The Green Bay Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) is comprised of four full time officers that are solely dedicated to traffic enforcement and traffic investigations.
This unit has existed for several years with staffing levels varying through the years. With a growing expectation of increased traffic enforcement in the community, the unit added two officers in 2019 bringing the full complement up to four patrol officers focused on this mission.
Renewed Focus on Traffic Safety
Traffic complaints and concerns are the number 1 complaint made to the Green Bay Police Department and City of Green Bay Alderpersons.
Based on this concern, the Green Bay Police Department, in coordinated effort with the Mayor’s Office, City Council, Department of Public Works Traffic Division, and Neighborhood Division, will have a renewed focus on traffic safety and enforcement in 2020.
Goals
The goal is to increase safety through the improvement of
- Attentive driving
- Driving the speed limit
- Obeying traffic signals
- Yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks
Please help the TEU; be a driver that leads by example!
